The real story comes from unsolicited reports from our customers. ASDI is a unique
Contract Research Organization located in Newark Delaware (asdibiosciences.com)
they specialize in processing compound libraries. They solvate, transfer, replicate,
reformat, and store compound libraries.
On a recently completed project for a recognized customer that involved reformatting
600,000 compounds, this included 250,000 solubilizations. They produced over 3,000
plates in the 96 well format and over 9,000 in the 384 well format. Of these 384 well plates
half of the work was accomplished with a 06 well head on a Quadra 3, meaning 4 transfers
per plate. They filled 6,500 plates much larger than the Quadra tip diameter. They did not miss a plate.
There were over 26 million liquid transfers counting the mixing steps. While these numbers are very
impressive, the most significant parts is that all of the work was accomplished with 2 Quadra 3 workstations.
One had our 96 well 450uL disposable tip head and the other had our 384 SV head. Six months prior
to the project, the Quadra 3 received their annual preventative maintenance. During the entire run,
there was no service calls. About 2 weeks prior to the finish, the "O" rings on the 450uL head
began to deteriorate. That head was quickly exchanged with another Quadra head and the project was
finished.
ASDI was so impressed with the performance they received on these 2 Quadra 3's they purchased 2 more. They now have 4.
