This is the Magnetic Nest fitted with a 24 well post magnet for use with 96 well plates. It is designed to automatically insert the magnetic field between four wells. The insertion height is controllable. A 96 well plate with hanging wells is required, such as the Griener U-bottom or the CoStar mid-size, or deepwell plate. Cat. No. 520-70 (for use with the Quadra-Plus)

Cat. No. 320-70A (for use with the Quadra 4)
This is the Magnetic Nest fitted with special high strength magnets to go between the wells of a 384 PCR type of plate. It may also be used to trap the particles at the very bottom of a 96 well plate. Cat. No. 520-70A (for use with the Quadra-Plus)

Cat. No. 320-70B (for use with the Quadra 4)
This is the Magnetic Nest fitted with a Prolinx magnet for use with their 384 well protocols. The magnets are designed to hold the magnetic particles to the bottom of a conventional 384 well plate. Cat. No. 520-70B (for use with the Quadra-Plus)
The Magnetic Nest is designed to automatically bring a magnetic field to the wells of a microplate. There are three different magnet assemblies for the Magnetic Nest to fit specific applications. Under program control of the Quadra 4 or Quadra-Plus, the magnets are moved up to the microplate; congregating magnetic particles used in the assay plate. Holding the magnetic particles allows the pipettor to withdraw the supernate. Releasing the magnet permits washing the particles with the next reagent or wash solution.

The Magnetic Nest, like Tomtec's other plate nests, can access microplates to and from the cassette stackers of the Quadra 4 or Quadra-Plus. Under program control, a plate could automatically be transferred from a Shaker Nest to a Magnetic Nest. This facilitates the methods recommended on many assay protocols.
